Days 17-19: Reno, NV

WHOA! This weekend was a bit of a whirl-wind. My husband and I decided that we wanted to make a spontaneous trip to Reno..a place we've always joked about going one day. Well- this time we made it happen. I packed up the car, picked him up from work and we hit the road.

4 hours and about 260 miles later- we landed in another world. We decided on the Regency hotel and casino, as they allowed dogs- and well, we hated to leave our four legged friend behind unless we had to. :) Trouble was- they lacked a lot of new age technology, that was not in slot machine form. Therefore- we lacked internet access.

Bummer- in a way..however, sometimes it is freeing not being as connected with the technical world- especially when your husband in a software engineer. ;)

We spent the weekend gambling, playing circus games, enjoying $1.49 bottled beers, dancing, eating at a buffet, laughing and enjoying each other's company. On our way back to San Francisco- we stopped and visited the Donner Memorial State park and enjoyed the breath taking views around Tahoe.

Here are a few pictures from our trip! Enjoy! :)

Until tomorrow..Cheers.

The Donner Party national park- it was incredible- yet eerie to visit. The rock portion of the statue stands 22 feet high- the height of the snow the Donner Party faced while on their journey from Illinois to California.
